  • Registration of candidates is done by KNEC on behalf of the board.  Entries are forwarded to the board.
  • KNEC administers the examinations in Kenya.
  • Results and certificates are received by KNEC which  dispatches them to individual candidates.

Exam Fee: Kshs. 5,000 per candidate paid directly to KNEC.

Exam Venue: Nairobi.

Exam Period: April and November.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) was established by the Government of Kenya in 1980. Through an Act of Parliament (CAP 225A) as a non-profit making institution to conduct school and post-school national examinations except university examinations and award certificates to successful candidates.
