With all examinations preparations in place, The Kenya National Examinations Council Acting CEO Dr. Mercy Karogo convened a staff meeting on October 2 at New Mitihani House to whip up team spirit during during the launch of the 2019 KCPE and KCSE national examinations period.
The staff and other multi-agencies officers were informed that all was set for the 2019 national examinations period.
“The Council is now ready to administer the 2019 national examinations. This great meeting is to launch an important season in the KNEC Calendar,” Karogo said.
The team was told to ready themselves to participate in the monitoring like they have done since 2016 in order to ensure that examinations adhere to laid down rules, regulations and best practices of exam administration.
All were reminded to effectively and efficiently use the available resources while carrying the exercise in line with the Council and the government agenda on cutting down costs.

Given the gigantic task connected with examinations administration and management, team spirit was invoked as an essential that will ensure success in the administration of these year’s national examinations.
“Any credit in achieving this cannot be attributed to an individual, therefore each officer should embrace team spirit and work diligently for success of the institution,” She said.
Offering credible examinations is not possible, but the role played by the KNEC staff is highly appreciated by the Council because of the sacrifices that each staff(s) make.
We are once again, appealing for the support that you have been giving towards the successful administration of the examinations in the past, Dr. Karogo said.
The CEO ended her speech with Henry Ford’s quote: “if everyone is moving forward together, then Success takes care of itself.”
The 2019 examinations started with the assessment of Practical Oral and Aurals which were conducted from 21st to 25th October, 2019 while KCPE and KCSE examinations started on 29th October and 4th November, 2019 respectively. On the other hand post school practical examination started on 1st November, 2019. The theory papers ran from 11th to 22nd November 2019.
