KNEC marks World Aids Day in style

The first day of December is celebrated worldwide as the World AIDS Day, in order  to raise raising awareness about HIV/AIDS.

The Kenya National Examinations Council celebrated the 2020 World AIDS Day by giving out a copy of the Workplace Policy on HIV and Aids to every member of staff.

In 2019, statistics showed that there were approximately 38 million people across the World living with the virus, 1.6 million of whom live in Kenya.

KNEC recognizes that a healthy workforce enhances productivity. HIV/AIDS awareness is therefore part of the organization’s Strategic plan of 2015 – 2020. It is also in a performance target.

Since the establishment of KNEC AIDS Control Committee in accordance with the National Aids Council (NACC) guidelines, the committee, chaired Mr. Ibrahim Mohammud (Deputy Director, Examinations Administration-Field administration) has consistently endeavored to raise awareness on the matter of HIV/AIDS

During the 2019-2020 performance contract cycle, the committee scored an impressive 85 percent making it the most outstanding committee in KNEC, according to records at the Planning Office.
